Comeback Wins & Scoring Fireworks Highlight Opening Night of the 2025 Berks Summer Classic
The 2025 Berks Summer Classic opened with a bang Friday night at Body Zone Sports and Wellness Complex, delivering two high-octane matchups that set the tone for an exciting season ahead.
In the opening game, A. Moyer Masonry pulled off an incredible comeback to defeat Palacios Dentistry 7-5 after trailing 5-1 midway through the second period. The tide began to turn thanks to a surge of offense from Joe Moloney, whose quick goals helped shift the momentum. As the game tightened late, Alec Moyer broke free for a clutch breakaway goal to seal the comeback victory.
Game two featured a high-scoring showdown between Smokey Bones and Verbero Hockey Co., with Smokey Bones coming out on top in a 12-9 thriller. Despite the loss, Logan Buch of Verbero put on a show with a dominant six-point performance β racking up five goals and one assist. Both teams traded goals in a back-and-forth battle, but Smokey Bones managed to pull away down the stretch.
It was an unforgettable opening night filled with energy, excitement, and standout performances β exactly what the Berks Summer Classic is all about.
